A typical line-up would be a three or four piece band. It doesn't matter if the function is in Perthshire, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Dundee, Fife or Timbuktu!

BAND NUMBERS:

0 -100 guests     -    3 or 4 piece ceilidh band

100-200+ guests    -    4, 5 or 6 piece ceilidh band

These are merely guidelines based on our experience. 

*We recommend at least a three piece for all occasions and this would typically consist of a accordion, fiddle and piano. For a four/six piece we may add a dance caller and/or additional fiddle and/or guitar and/or drummer.

BUDGETING:

Arguably the major factor of your function's success will be decided when you choose your Ceilidh band - see choosing a ceilidh band. When you are budgeting for your function, the cost of entertainment should be a primary consideration. A 'cheap' band may be tempting for the pocket but will they make you day special? Prices may vary depending on the size of band and whether you require a disco. (We do not profess to be the lowest cost band but we do offer high quality, value for money).

We are happy to discuss a package which best suits your budget.

Suggestion:

Divide your total entertainment budget by the intended number of guests and this will give you a comparison on how much you are intending to spend per head on the meal or drinks or flowers per head. You may well find that you are spending more per head on extravagances, which are unlikely to be as important as the entertainment!
